Welcome to the home page of the Kerman Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber is located in downtown Kerman, California, a growing community
with a population of about 14,000. Kerman is located fifteen miles west of Fresno in western Fresno County, the number one agricultural
county in the nation.
Kerman sits nestled in the richest agricultural valley in the world, the San Joaquin Valley. Like many California cities, its
history began as a railroad stop for the Southern Pacific just before the turn of the century. Close to the beautiful San Joaquin
River, Kerman made a perfect settlement. During World War II, Kerman experienced a grownth period and was officially incorporated in 1946.
Rural Kerman is an agricultural haven; a result of the warm climate, rich soil and clean water. Almonds, grape vineyards, tree fruits,
pistachios, field crops, cotton, hay and dairy farming add to the natural landscapes of a rural environment. The land continues to enrich
the lives of citizens and contributes greatly to the quality of life. Every $1 produced on the farm generates more than $3.50 in the local
and regional economy.
